Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Ah, Italian cuisine! One of my favorites. Let me share with you a simple and delicious recipe for Spaghetti Aglio e Olio.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic slices and red pepper flakes, and sauté until the garlic is golden but not burnt.
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, along with a splash of pasta water. Toss everything together to coat the spaghetti with the garlic-infused oil. Add more pasta water as needed to create a silky sauce.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
